Components Explained

Solar Panels

Mounted on the roof, typically facing south for maximum yield. Panels are built from a few core cell technologies:

  • Monocrystalline — cut from a single silicon crystal, the highest efficiency and most compact option, the standard for residential roofs with limited space.
  • Polycrystalline (multicrystalline) — made from multiple silicon crystals, slightly lower efficiency at a lower cost.

Solar Inverter & MPPT

Converts DC from the panels into usable AC power. Every modern inverter uses Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) — it continuously adjusts the electrical operating point of the panels as sunlight and temperature shift through the day, so you always harvest the most power actually available rather than a fixed, suboptimal draw.

Mounting Structure
